Christmas

Ok ok there is no way to hide from it Christmas is on its way. As always we all have a list of things we need to do to prepare for the coming season.

One of those things is writing our Christmas cards. I would like to make a little suggestion for this year. Instead of spending those hours writing cards to friends and family how about sending them a quick email saying.

Livvy's Smile SNAP Party 2013

We are holding our first Livvy's Smile party of 2013 April 6th at The Special Needs Adventure Playground 

It's going to be a great day with food, drinks and entertainment.
Mr Potato is coming with his usual amazing circus tricks and balloon modelling.

Face painting, bouncy castle.

And of course all the playground itself has to offer, outdoor fun, indoor soft play, sensory room and so much more.

Due to the vast numbers that attended our last party we have decided to hold two sessions. 10am - 1pm and 1pm -4pm.

Livvy's Tea Tent

One of the things we at Livvy's Smile decided we were going to support this year was the Special Kids in the UK annual camp. We decided that a charity that supports parents and families with children with special needs was certainly something we wanted to encourage.

This charity is also special to use as it holds many memories of Livvy camping and generally causing the chaos she was well known for.

So this year there was a new addition to the camp site Livvy's Tea Tent  a place for parents to grab a nice warm drink and have a natter.

It seemed really apt that we were the sponsors of the tea tent as Livvy was well known for pinching campers food, especially certain chocolate biscuits.

It was wonderful for us as a family to see Livvy's name on the tea tent, knowing that she would have loved the concept made it all so special.

Also the lovely comments and thanks Livvy received from grateful members enjoying their hot chocolate.

This was such a success that next year we will be sponsoring the tea tent again and will also be holding afternoon tea. A change for families to see chat, engage and enjoy a cream cake a cuppa. What more could you ask for.

Livvy's Smile SNAP party

The sun is shinning at its time for fun, Livvy's Smile SNAP Party, Join us on June 9th at The Special needs adventure playground, Pye Green Road Cannock from 10am till 4pm. It's going to be a great day, with the wonderful circus skills of Mr Potato, bouncy castle and of course all the great facilities SNAP has to offer. Food and drink are all provided. All you have to do, is book your place and turn up. This is a free event provided by us at Livvy's Smile for disabled children and their families. We seriously can't wait to see you all. Raising our profile

Something that we have been aware of over the last year or so is the need to raise the profile of Livvy's Smile. We need more people knowing what we do and why we do. So with this in mind we have now ordered some merchandise to help promote ourselves.

Livvy's Smile supports Rett Syndrome Research Trust UK

Livvy's Smile was formed to create smiles and special memories for disabled children in Livvy’s memory, her gift to others.

Thanks to an amazing newly formed charity we are now able to do something extra we know Livvy would be so proud of.
Rett Syndrome Research Trust UK is a charity which funds research into the cure for Rett Syndrome. Imagine not just being able to create special memories but actually being able to give more time for the creation of them. There is real hope for the treatment and even the cure from this devastating condition.

While our main focus is going to stay with creating smiles we at Livvy’s smile will be backing and supporting Rett Syndrome Research Trust UK in any way we can.
As Livvy's parents we feel if we can stop any other parents feeling our pain our devastation our loss, we will do all we can with all our heart. If we can see one girl cured Livvy would be so proud.

Livvy showed us the meaning of courage strength and love, let these be the qualities that takes Livvy's Smile forward.

Livvy's Smile wants to give a big thank you to the Brownhills Specsavers store. To celebrate their 2nd birthday the store has had a fun week of fundraising and they chosen charity was guess,of course Livvy's Smile.

Livvy's Christmas Party

OK guys save the date.

Join us at the Livvy's Smile Christmas Party

18th December 11am - 3pm

EST Donkey Sanctuary, Sutton Park, Sutton, Birmingham

Join us for a fun filled day, with loads of activities planned. We are hoping for a circus workshop, face painting, we have a disco booked. Arranging a bouncy castle and one of the best bits is that we have the use of the EST grotto, this is always magical. Also is we have a grotto of course we will be having a special visitor joining us.

If you are a family with a child with disabilities  come join us for a day for creating memories.

Chrismas Ideas

It's getting close, the time of year of laughter, cheer and season wishes. Yet it also brings stress and chaos. Christmas woo hoo.

Anyway here at Livvy's Smile we are in the planning stages for our Christmas event. We have a few ideas but first we decided to ask others what they would like us to arrange.

Update, our first year

So guys as our first year as a charity comes to an end I can say I. How proud I am of what we have achieved. Our desire was to raise smiles and I can safety say we have done that. Just take a look at the photos on the website.
Last year we had the donkey party, the clown who visited the special needs school, the Christmas party. We have also been sending balloons to children who are poorly in hospital. Being in hospital is so hard, if one of our balloons but a smile on a child's face well then mission accomplished. Not too bad for a first years work.
Christmas saw us host Livvy's Christmas party at a great centre called kidz 3 play in Cannock. I have to say the staff were amazing. The website will be updated soon with pictures. It was wonderful to see so many kids and parents have fun and just enjoy the moment. How precious those memories can be
I know my memories are keeping me going. I do work hard at this charity in Livvy's name but nothing takes away the deep ache inside me. I miss her so much. I know she wouldn't wish for me to be unhappy but sometimes it’s just so hard.
It’s been quiet on the fundraising side of things since our last karaoke. This is ok a new year and new ideas coming together.
Anyway, I’m after new ideas, for fundraising and for events we can plan for the children. 2009 was a great start and I’m sure Livvy is very proud, but let’s take 2010 to a different level. Let’s create more smiles, more memories. More happy children.

Karaoke/Disco night 20th November 2009

Join us again at Bloxwich Royal British Legion, Broad Lane Gardens for another fundraising evening full of laughter. Come have a sing, come have a dance or just come and enjoy.

All the proceeds go straight into the charity helping us work to raise smiles on the faces of disabled children.

November 20th, 7.30pm

Adults £5, children under 13 come free.

Livvy's Donkey Party Saturday 6th

Yes its finally here, I'm so nervous. Its Livvy's Party. Our first event for the disabled children the charity is all about.

We have a bouncy castle, we have a circus skills display, stilt walking, balloon modelling and much more. Face painting, a mini kids disco and karaoke. Also one of the best bits is the donkeys themselves. I know that they were always Livvy's favorite bit.

There will be a free buffet with enough food for all (hopefully) and free drinks to.

All you have to do is bring yourselves and the children.


I'm so very excited, this is what the last months hard work was for.

As for Livvy I'm sure she will be with us, watching we all have fun.

Singing for smiles

Its the weekend of songs (well hopefully). Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Saturday (16Th) at The Royal British legion, broad lane gardens, Bloxwich

It will be a great night full of fun as we again try and raise loads of money for Livvy's Smile.

If you haven't got tickets yet you can still join us by paying on the door.

£866 what an amazing amount !!!!!!!

Well the title says it all. It was an exhausting but an exciting afternoon/evening. It was the first time i had ever been to watch Alan race and all i can say is that i now understand why is car comes home smashed quite often. You wont turn me into a RC car fan, but the racers and their families i love.

The generosity of them overwhelmed me, we had 78 racers in all, a great number. Many thanks to them all. Thanks to Tamworth Racing Club for arranging the use of the room, organising the races and lots more, also to the wonderful women who made numerous cakes, biscuits and cups of teas. The urn was filled many times.

The raffle was a great success to, many thanks to JE Spares,Stafford Models,Mirage,Schumacher,Muchmore and CML. The prizes were amazing.We made a great amount from it.

A big thanks has to go to our good friend Andrew Bird, who has spearheaded this event from the start. I think we can safely say the event success was down to you. Thank you from our heart.

For those of you who went home with trophies(very nice trophies thanks to John White Trophies) enjoy and for those that didn't, maybe next year.

Again all i can say is thank you, the money you raised will go to Livvy's Smile and be used to arrange fun events for disabled children.

I know that Livvy would have loved this event and I'm sure she was laughing at the spills,kills and broken cars with us all.

RACE NIGHT !!!!!!

SATURDAY NIGHT IS RACE NIGHT

Im so looking forward to this event as its been a while coming. All arranged, fantastic prizes for the raffle. Im also jealous as the trophies are great its a shame i'm not racing myself.

There will be refreshements on sale to keep all you racers in tip top condition.

So all i can say is thanks guys for coming.
